Experiences

A holiday at the Borgo is above all a relaxing break in the greenery and quiet of the Tuscan countryside, but there is no lack of things to do…

Not far away, the lake of Chiusi, with its emerald and fishy waters. You can walk on the paths, do birdwatching, or taste the typical dish of this lake, of Etruscan origin: the brustico, royal perch that is cooked on the grill, placed on lake reeds, and then served in its skin.

There are many easy routes, among the rolling hills, whether you are a trekking enthusiast or you prefer the bike, you won’t be disappointed

Chiusi is Etruscan land… the museums, the cathedral, the graves, the fascinating labyrinth of Porsenna

…but it is also a land of vineyards and olives. The “minuta”, ancient olive that does not fear frost, from which a fruity EVO with a pleasant aroma of thistle is obtained, which will envelop your palates, green gold, when you go to taste the local gastronomic proposals: pici with crumbs, bruschetta, Chianina meat, tegamaccio fish or brustico.

The grape… the Prugnolo Gentile, variety of Sangiovese grape, will give a light ruby red wine, more floral than fruity: the Nobile di Montepulciano, soft and full, with which to toast, right in Montepulciano, on the night of glasses and wishes, in San Lorenzo.

Another typicality of this area, the aglione with which the sauce for the pici is prepared, in the trattorias they still prepare them by hand or underwire, and there is no shortage of cooking classes, especially in the autumn months, to take home on return, as well as to memories and flavors, even a little experience

Water, magical element of well-being.
Already two thousand years ago the Etruscan and Roman peoples immersed themselves in the thermal waters of the Valdichiana. Emperor Augustus used to go there periodically…
The Acqua Santa park with the Theia pools and the sensory paths in Chianciano. The exclusive thermal park of Fonteverde… The moon cave in Montepulciano… Enjoy…
